Problems of teaching discipline logistics in higher educational institutions

Today, logistics and supply chain management play an increasingly important role in improving the efficiency and competitiveness of companies. This is due to the fact that the heads of companies need to effectively address issues related to the purchase, transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, loading and unloading of materials and finished products. At the same time, organizations that need to attract highly qualified specialists in the field of logistics work in various sectors of the economy. It can be industrial enterprises, supermarkets, traders, etc. In the studies devoted to the improvement of the company’s efficiency, it is proved that the involvement of qualified logistics personnel, the use of the latest logistics technologies, equipment, programs can reduce the cost of production by 30-40%. This suggests that the high demand for logistics specialists will only increase. It is important to take into account that the requirements for the skills, knowledge and skills of logistics specialists will also increase. The article outlines the basic requirements for graduates in the specialty “logistics” and “supply chain management”. The necessity of providing students with relevant and in demand in the market of practical skills is also justified, for which the recommendations on the active involvement of teachers-practitioners in the teaching process in higher education institutions are presented. To solve this problem, the author proposes such measures as the introduction of a stimulating surcharge for teachers-practitioners in higher education institutions; reservation of a certain amount of places for the faculty of the University for such teachers; purchase of the necessary software equipment for practical training in logistics; practical training by teachers-practitioners for teachers who do not have practical experience in companies in the form of roundtables, analysis of cases, training in various programs, etc.
