Problems of legal regulation of digital currencies

The urgent task of legislators at the present stage of development of the legal system is to develop a new view of the relations arising from the circulation of digital financial assets and digital currency in the Russian Federation. The aim of the work is to analyze the norms of the Federal Law of July 31, 2020 No. 259-FZ "On digital financial assets, digital currency and on amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation." The study made it possible to identify the properties of digital currencies, types of transactions with this financial instrument, as well as the range of subjects of legal relations arising in the process of circulation of digital currencies. At the same time, the aforementioned act is of great importance in the legal system, since for the first time it legally regulated social relations that develop in the process of circulation of digital currencies.
