Problems of legal regulation of urban development activities in the territory of historical settlement

The article discusses the main provisions of the current legislation in the field of preservation of cultural heritage objects. The classification of cultural heritage objects is given, as well as the approved procedure for assigning the status of a cultural heritage object. The category of buildings is designated - historically valuable urban-forming objects, in respect of which there are no legislative regulations for assigning buildings to this category, as well as for the implementation of work on such buildings. The problem of the lack of legal regulation in relation to historically valuable urban-forming objects within the boundaries of a historical settlement is outlined.
