Problems of tourism infrastructure development in the Barguzin kotlovina the Republic of Buryatia

Key problems on the development of regional tourism infrastructure of Barguzin kotlovina, the Republic of Buryatia, including Barguzinsky and Kurumkansky regions, are considered. Numerous and diverse in terms of physical and chemical properties of healthy mineral springs are main factor in attracting tourists to this area. The possibility of using healthy mineral springs for treatment of a wide range of diseases, in combination with an attractive natural landscape, makes it possible to consider this tourist destination of the area as the most promising. However, the problems typical for most eastern Russian regions, caused by low infrastructure development, hinder the full development of tourist market in the Baikal region. In this regard, the proposed article focuses on deep multidisciplinary analysis of current state of tourist infrastructure within the study area, identifies main problems, outlines prospective approaches and pertinent possible solutions. It is emphasized that with a balanced and comprehensive development of the tourism sector and its infrastructure, an increase in living standards of the local population is predicted.
