The article analyzes the results of the Marxist conceptual paradigm, which was indisputably dominant in the Soviet system of social and humanitarian education and, in essence, remains fundamental in the post- Soviet domestic system of historical science. Particular attention is drawn to the most controversial postulates of the Marxist conceptual paradigm, among which it is legitimate to include the following fundamentals of Marxism: a materialistic understanding of history; dialectics as the doctrine of the most general laws of development of nature, society and thought; the doctrine of surplus value and the theory of the exploitation of man by man and the theory of the proletarian socialist revolution based on this doctrine; a general understanding of the nature and behavioral characteristics of man, corresponding implicitly understood by Marx model of "sociological man".
