In the conditions of modern realities, the question of digital literacy of the population both in general in the world and in individual countries, including China, is increasingly being raised. The need to improve the digital competencies of different categories of citizens is obvious. This will allow people of different ages and social groups to keep up with the times, feel comfortable during the digitalization of all spheres of life of modern society, will contribute to the development of Internet resources, electronic life support systems by citizens, and will also provide them with the opportunity for cultural interaction. First of all, this is relevant for older people who have a hard time adapting to modern innovations. The article notes that the digital divide between generations can be overcome by ensuring close consultative interaction of youth representatives with older people. It also makes sense to think about measures of state regulation of digitalization processes in Chinese society in order to improve the security of Internet communication of socially vulnerable categories of citizens, which include elderly people.
