Problems of correlation of philosophy and science: on the issue of the insolubility of a long-standing discussion

The article focuses on finding the reasons for the insolubility of the current debatable issue concerning the correlation between philosophy and science and the nature of their interaction. The novelty of the research lies in the definition and analysis of the triune root of the debatable problem of the topic. Unlike other researchers, the author focused his attention not on finding an answer to the question of the correlation between philosophy and science, but on the conditions, factors that prevent its resolution. The main part of the study highlights the following components of the issue: the presence of different historical contexts for the correlation of the concepts of “philosophy” and “science”, the lack of unified, generally accepted their definitions in different time intervals. The approaches of modern researchers to the study of the indicated problems are evaluated. In conclusion, it is proposed to define the correlation between the concepts “philosophy” and “science” only in the specific meaning of each of them and only in the context of the same historical period.
