Problems of insurance investment in the context of ensuring economic security of the region

The subject of research in this article is the investment relationship between insurers and regions as economic entities. The purpose of the study is to develop a specific direction for the modernization of investment activities of insurers. The methodological basis of the work is constituted by methods of cognition of investment relations with the help of analytics, statistical measurements, generalization, analogies. The article considers issues of general approaches and the structure of income and expenses of insurance organizations. The main directions of borrowing funds of insurers are analyzed. It was revealed that equity capital has a growing share in borrowing. The issues of placement of funds of insurance organizations by regions of the country, in which deposits, bonds, state and municipal securities are very important, are considered. The subjects of the investment problem research were the Central Federal District, Perm Territory, the Republic of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. The results of the study are the identified problems: the tendency for regional markets to disappear, the branch method of conducting the insurance business, and an inadequate system for regulating the investment activities of insurers. The conclusions are formulated: a decrease in the amount of investments in the economies of the regions or their complete absence and, accordingly, weakening of the economic security of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation; withdrawal of the bulk of insurance investments outside the Russian Federation; overcoming the problems of the investment behavior of insurers and building an investment policy adequate to modern challenges can be carried out if there is an interested and well-thought-out state strategy in this area.
