The article presents results of the scientific research dedicated to the yielding capacity characteristics of 16 domestic and foreign spring rape varieties and hybrids. The research has been carried out in the production experiment on a well-cultivated sod-medium podzolic medium loamy soil in the JSC Dmitrova Gora Agrofirm, Rzhev district, Tver region. The registration plot area is 1ha, the replication is double and the experiment area is 35ha. As a result, it has been established that the biodiversity of spring rape, oil radish and early winter cress makes it possible to select the most adapted and productive varieties and hybrids for cultivation in the Upper Volga region. The highest oilseed yields have been formed by such foreign hybrids as Miracle F1 (2.36 t/ha), Caliber F1 (2.23 t/ha), Salar KL (2.14 t/ha) and Mahjong (2.07 t/ha), as well as by such domestic variety as Vikros (2.11 t/ha). The coefficient of economic activity of those varieties and hybrids have ranged from 0.19 to 0.36. Snezhana radish, such spring rape hybrids as Drago, Mahjong, F1 Caliber, which give 25.2-27.4 t/ha of herbage and - 3.61-4.22 t/ha of dry mass are more suitable in case of using herbage in the flowering phase for feeding purposes.
