The article is devoted to the problem of planning and career development of young teachers. The article defines the concepts of «career», «career planning», «careerogram» and also considers the types of careers. The main task of career planning and implementation is to ensure the interaction of professional and intra-organizational careers. Career planning is defining personal professional development goals and the ways leading to their achievement. The article reveals the definition of «career development» concept. It presents a new model of teaching staff certification and describes the requirements for the qualification categories for teachers. The pros and cons of pedagogical skill contests are considered.
