The article presents the experience of applying one of the approaches to designing a system for evaluating learning outcomes, based on the organization of formative and summarizing evaluation activities. The design of methodological support for assessment activities is part of the methodological activity of the teacher and is the development of a passport for assessment tools and the actual complex of assessment tools for the discipline. The passport of assessment tools is a holistic model of the assessment system in the discipline, which is filled with assessment tools depending on the conceptual and content component, the resource support of the educational process, as well as subjective factors. Within the framework of the proposed approach, we have developed evaluation tools for the discipline “Astronomy” based on the leading provisions of the theory of pedagogical measurements. The article, in particular, considers the algorithm for designing a task system in a test form, shows methodological methods for developing facet tasks, as well as a technology for selecting the content of a task system using technological matrices.
