Project activity as a means of formation views of sustainable environmental development in children of the older preschool age

The relevance of the problem presented in the article is due to the need to form the personality of a child who thinks and acts in a situation of sustainable development, i.e. is able not only to consume the benefits of public life, but also to preserve the wealth of nature, ecology and his own health. A means of forming ideas about sustainable environmental development in older preschool children has become a project activity that allows the child to become an active participant in the educational process. An end-to-end educational technology, gamification, was chosen as a tool for project activity, which is most acceptable for use in a preschool educational organization and corresponds to the age characteristics and capabilities of children of this age. The algorithmic Scratch and Autodraw platforms have become gamification tools. The study was conducted on the basis of the regional innovation platform in the Chelyabinsk region of MDOU «Kindergarten №73» in Magnitogorsk. 25 children aged 6-7 years out of a total of 27 children of this age group took part in the experiment. O.A. Solomennikova’s complex «Diagnostics of environmental knowledge of preschoolers» was chosen as diagnostic methods in september 2022 and may 2023. The difference between the initial and final indicators was significant (the percentage of children with a high level of knowledge about the state of nature increased almost twice), which allowed us to conclude about the effectiveness of the project method of working with preschool children in integration with digital resources and achieving the goal of forming ideas about sustainable environmental development.
