Project activity in higher education as a basis for intercutural dialogue

Peculiarities of project activities in higher education as one of the forms of interactive work aimed at the interaction of students from different educational establishments and the expansion of their country study knowledge is considered in the article.The experience gained as a result of the implementation of the international project “Taste America” is summarized and described, the task of which was to enhance lingua-cultural knowledge about the country of the language being studied. It is indicated that the project included two aspects: cultural and linguistic. The first aspect involved the formation of ideas about the culinary traditions of the Americans, in whose cuisine one can find a mixture of other cultures; a quiz aimed at systematization of gained knowledge and broadening the regional outlook. The second aspect thought as communication practice with the native speakers, which was determined as communicative and linguacultural improvement of competences by means of students’ involving in a situation of intercultural interactions. The implementation of the project has proved its effectiveness at different levels, which allows us to talk about the effectiveness of the intercultural dialogue as well as the efficient realization of the educational goals.
