Project technologies as a way of developing communicative competence in a multicultural classroom

The multicultural classes in comprehensive schools of Russia have become a distinctive feature of a dynamic society. New social and educational requirements are set for school student training: social sustainability, mobility, self-determination and selfdevelopment. The fulfillment of these requirements depends on many factors: on the level of student communicative competence, on the degree of mastering the language, on the ability to study the language independently, on the wish to constantly expand the language knowledge and to improve the communicative culture.In accordance with the prospective tasks of school education this article discusses the project technologies which cover different aspects of language learning program for multicultural classes. The organization of language projects, their goals, objectives and thepeculiarities of their implementation are described. The importance of the project technologies is that they can be used for teaching students with different levels of speech and communicative abilities. The article may be of interest to language teachers, students of pedagogical universities, postgraduate students and school teachers, as well as to the experts in the field of continuous professional education.
