Professional motivation of student youth: empirical research experience

The article examines the peculiarities of professional motivation of student youth. The factors that determine the choice of specialization by students of higher education institutions are analyzed. As part of the analysis of the problems of professional motivation of students, the motives for choosing an educational strategy for university education were studied, which exactly influences professional choice, professional activity and motivation. The analysis of the features of the educational environment of the university, the influence of internal and external conditions on the formation of professional motivation was carried out. It is noted that the interest of students in the chosen specialization is formed under the influence of the socio-cultural environment in which they are socialized. This is both the educational conditions of the university and the individual situation in which students find themselves. The secondary empirical data are the results of the sociological study “The level of socialization of INRTU students” (N = 385), conducted in 2021 in Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU).
