Vocational guidance of students as a tool for professional socialization in the university environment

The issue of professional socialization is becoming increasingly relevant today, since its success is the key to the future stability of the society. One of the main factors of successful professional socialization of an individual is the development of career guidance. People, who make the right choice of the profession and successfully carry out their professional activities in a particular labor sphere, demonstrate high productivity, which, in turn, is an important strategic resource, that guarantees growth and stability of the state and society as a whole. This study describes the social mechanisms of direct and indirect career guidance that affect students as future specialists in a particular field. It is under the influence of these mechanisms that a professional is formed, who will later enter the labor market to fulfill his or her potential. Moreover, the article shows different approaches to the concept of professional socialization. The recommendations for organizing effective vocational guidance work in universities are given.
