The article presents a psycho-pedagogical component of University education of library and information personnel. Given the analysis of the content of General and professional competencies of bachelors and masters on direction “Library and information work” in terms of psycho-pedagogical and teaching functional orientation of education. Considered blocks of psycho-pedagogical disciplines of the basic and optional parts competenceoriented curriculum forming the core competence of bachelors and masters. Underlined the urgency of formation of professional pedagogical and psychological competences within development of specialized master’s programs, including in the framework of the network program of the Moscow State Institute of Culture with the Russian State Children’s Library “Theory and methodology of library services to children”.
