The following work was carried out with the purpose of forming in patients the general principles of ensuring health harmless radiation safety during dental X-ray examination. Based on the annual forms of compulsory statistical reporting - the radiation-hygienic passport of the organization (RGPO), the authors have analyzed patients’ radiation load (the average individual dose per one x-ray study) obtained in dental clinics of Samara in 2004 and 2015. Despite the introduction of more powerful and modern X-ray equipment (for creating a panoramic image), the results have showed decrease in the average individual dose for a patient during one dental X-ray study. It has made possible due to the increased number of training sessions for the personnel in the field of radiation safety, which helps to select modes for the image production and optimize the parameters of the X-ray equipment for the X-ray examination.
