Professional training of employees of internal affairs bodies in the field of countering terrorism and extremism

This article deals with the problems of necessary expansion of the system of vocational training in the Ministry of internal Affairs in the sphere of counteraction to extremism and terrorism based on the experience of educational activity of the Krasnodar University of the MIA of Russia and all-Russian Institute of advanced training of employees of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. It is proposed, at the sole discretion of educational organizations of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, to introduce a comprehensive special discipline “Fundamentals of countering terrorism and extremism in the Russian Federation” related to the variable part of the training program, or as an optional discipline. The article examines how most educational organizations of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Russian Federation provide professional training for employees of internal Affairs bodies in the field of countering extremism and terrorism, and which set of academic disciplines primarily covers this sphere of public relations to a greater or lesser extent. The authors come to the conclusion that professional training in the field of countering terrorism and extremism can be provided at all levels, namely: within the framework of professional training, during the development of the main professional educational programs by cadets and trainees (foreign trainees), as part of additional professional education of employees, which is carried out under advanced training programs, professional retraining programs, as well as in the daily work activities at the classes on professional service and physical training conducted at the place of service.
