Professional Reflection of Students of Professional Educational Organizations and its Peculiarities

Introduction. Professional reflection contributes to the formation of values and value orientations of the personality, determines the strategy of its development, encourages constant self-development and creative attitude to future professional activity. The aim is to identify psychological peculiarities of professional reflection of students of professional educational organizations. Materials and Methods. The following methods were employed: «Estimating the Reflexivity Development Level» by A. V. Karpov, «Level of Expression and Direction of Reflection» by M. Grant, «Differentiated type of reflection» by D. A. Leontiev, E. N. Osin. The sample consisted of 40 students of professional educational organizations. Results and Discussion. The psychological characteristics of professional reflection of students of medical and pedagogical colleges that determine their self-image as future professionals are emphasized. The data of the analysis of the category «professional reflection», as well as the results of the comparative analysis of the peculiarities of students' professional reflection obtained in the process of empirical research, are given. Conclusions. Professional reflection of students of professional educational organizations has specific features, which include the ability to analyze and evaluate their ‘steps’ into the profession, the ability to empathize and penetrate into the inner world of another person, to show empathy, tolerance, sensitivity, the ability to understand and comprehend their feelings about entering the profession, to predict the consequences of their own professional actions.
