The inadequacy of the professional competence of the modern worker of education to actual realities of the updated socio-economic situation gave rise to a need for discussion and the construction of the theoretical foundations and the development of professional standards of the teacher. It would be built on the basis of the theory of professional competence. However, what is happening with this important document, encourages us to remember the conventional, but methodologically important phrase: “ A ship will sail the way you name it” or “Nomen est omen”.
