Management of educational activity is one of the multitask and complex functions of the university organization, the specificity of which is to fulfill the social order for providing highly profiled specialists in certain fields of activity. In modern conditions during the revision of professional standards, new advanced requirements to specialists in the field of education are made in accordance with the strategies prescribed in the national project “Education”. The relevance of the topic is justified by the need to comprehend the possible consequences of the introduction of new requirements and conditions on the professionalism of professors. The aim of the study was to reveal the reasons and factors influencing the work capacity and burnout of university professors. The novelty of the study is to find preventive measures of professional burnout syndrome not through psychological aspects, but through managerial decisions. As a result of the questionnaire survey, it was revealed that one of the factors influencing the pedagogical process and health is unplanned, urgent innovations, the abundance of which leads to the symptoms of professional burnout. Professors note that when introducing innovations, their colleagues show the first symptoms of burnout in the form of complaints about headaches, rapid fatigue, insomnia, depression and decreased sensory sensitivity. Thus a necessity for the revision of the managerial decisions for the heads of the universities has arisen, directed to the development of the professors' health management concept in order to prevent the risks of work capacity decrease, burnout prevention and preservation of the quality of the teaching activity.
