Occupational health of social workers: correlation of research approaches

The article discusses modern approaches to research on the professional health of social workers. As part of the performance of work, professional health is one of the key factors that ensure the success, quality, and effectiveness of work. Social workers, in the process of performing diverse work functions, may face various professional stresses and difficulties, which, in turn, may affect their occupational health, the development of professional deformation and the occurrence of symptoms of professional burnout. The approaches to the professional health of social workers related to the research of professional deformation of personality, professional and personal competence, professional (emotional) burnout, coping behavior in professional activity are considered. Approaches to the study of such problems in professional activity of social workers are considered in the article. The conducted analysis lays the foundation for further prospective empirical research of social workers’ occupational health in order to expand and supplement the scientific understanding of the peculiarities of social work and develop programs of psychological support of the employees of this activity area in the context of maintaining their occupational health in the dynamics of working life.
