The publication reveals some features of career guidance for applicants - graduates of secondary schools who show an increased interest in studying chemistry. A specific example shows some aspects of the organization of a chemistry class conducted in the form of a game on the theme "Chemistry in action: fire in the laboratory." The material and technical support of the chemical laboratory is presented as the basis for students to solve professional tasks. The applied capabilities of chemical science are shown as an integrating component in the self-determination of students in grades 10-11 when choosing their future profession.
