The article highlights the organization of career guidance work at the university within the framework of learning a second foreign language in various areas of training. The influence of the dynamics of social processes in the socio-cultural space on the optimization of the use of human resources together with the creation of the necessary conditions for the self-realization of young people is considered. The author substantiates the necessity of introducing a set of professionally-oriented tasks in the second foreign language into the learning process with the involvement of students in real communication with the modeling of professional activities that contribute to the formation of professional competencies of students.
