Progeria (review)

The data of literature, reflecting etiology, clinical features and differential diagnosis of progeria of childhood and adult are presented.The review is devoted to the genetic mechanisms of aging and longevity and includes the following sections: progeria - a syndrome of accelerated aging, mitochondrial DNA and aging, genetics of life expectancy in the model object, genetics of lifeexpectancy and age pathology of a human being.
