Prediction of industrial electrical energy consumption in the volatility of price signals

The article deals with the problems of electricity purchase on the wholesale market for industry in Russia. The authors consider mechanism of price formation and various combinations of prices between the day-ahead market and balancing market prices. Favourable relations between the prices of the balancing market and plans for power consumption are revealed. There are several recommendations to improve the model of prediction of power consumption, based not only on factors determining the demand for electricity, but also factors considering the tendencies in the balancing market.
