Target-oriented approach as part of state regulation methodology of sustainable regional development

The article is devoted to the consideration of the program-target approach in the state regulation of sustainable regional development. The author identifies the main principles of the development of regional target programs, the advantages and disadvantages of the method, the scope of its practical application. During the study it was found out that a targeted approach is quite an effective method of the state regulation of sustainable regional development. However, in order to improve the efficiency of its use it is necessary to strengthen the regulatory system for this approach and elaborate target programs in depth
