Бесплатный доступ

This publication deals with the origin and evolution of double forms of German adjective that means the diachronic nature of the article. With a greater attention to the weak declension, which, in contrast to the strong Indo-European type, is a German innovation and, therefore, one of the most characteristic features of Germanic languages. The second part of the article reveals the essence of the principle of recognition / non-recognition of the influence of categorical trait “definity / indefinity” on the type of adjective declension (strong type – indefinite, weak type – definite), which divided Germanists into supporters of the semantic or syntactic conditioning of use of German adjective forms.
