The article examines the role of Prokop Maksa - one of the prominent political figures of the Czechoslovak National Liberation Movement, a member of the Czechoslovak National Council, a branch for Russia. This man represented a moderate wing in the conflict between the legionnaires and the Soviet government. During the Second World War, he was the Chairman of the State Council of Czechoslovakia in exile. He took an active part in strengthening the relations of the participants in the anti-Hitler coalition, speaking in support of the USSR, despite his imprisonment during the Civil War in Russia.
