The end of the 20th century in Russia was the time to solve problems concerning the Soviet heritage. Frequently with its help a person of a turn of centuries strives to express his own volatile position in transitional historical processes. The world which had appeared quite firm, collapses, the world, from which many people tried openly or secretly to preserve distance to designate limits of their own individuality, and which turns out to be an integral part of a person. Becoming a hero of the national prose and drama at the turn of the century, a person of the new time is shown to a reader through an image, called by the modern playwright, N.Kolyada - MOIMIR. In the late 20th - early 21st century literature is mainly the world of the city, that has come a long evolution way: «… from the city as a landscape in the Renaissance, through the city as the world (life space, universum analogue) in the era of romanticism, to the city as text - Imaginatively converted space, the result of experiencing the city in the artistic consciousness of modernists". It becomes a true object of an intense, sometimes aesthetic experience", incorporates signs of a real city, opens its borders, testifies to the consciousness perceiving it and appropriating it, uniting several time plans. The past and the present - in the first place. Conclusion. According to modern authors, much as one would like to escape from the present, it is impossible as it is impossible to forget the past. All the experience stays with a person, and one cannot retain a personality without that experience as one cannot have a city without its historical memory. Therefore, the Soviet epoch despite the intention to change the names of the cities, streets, parks, to deprive us of remembering the past, did not erase the pre-revolutionary city features and modernity cannot deprive us of memories of the tragic 20th century.
