The spatial aspect of topochron characterization in the mythological worldview

Бесплатный доступ

The article explores the changes in the attitude of the speaker of the linguistic worldview of the Old English language towards the component of the topochron catergory, namely space, with the transition from the pagan worldview to the Christian worldview. The holistic, non-discrete attitude towards the spatial-temporal component of world description, and, in particular, towards the topos, divides space vertically and horizontally, without using exact measures, as it is not important for the development of the plot of an epic work. This is a linguocultural universal, as this consciousness is independent of the geographical place the epic work origin. The article proves, using linguistic indicators, that the model of a tripartite world is preserved even in the Christian era. This fact is confirmed in works written during the early Christian period and containing a large number of references to the pagan worldview.
