Countering corruption in public authorities

This article discusses the main strategies for combating corruption in the system of internal affairs bodies (hereinafter referred to as ATS). Special attention is paid to the current anticorruption legislation and the planned actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (MVD of Russia) in the period from 2025 to 2028, aimed at eradicating corrupt practices. The article also touches on the development of public control over the activities of the police department, emphasizing the importance of civic participation in ensuring transparency and legality of police work. In addition, the issues of organizing political and educational work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, designed to improve the legal literacy of both personnel and the general population, are analyzed. A separate section is devoted to the formation of the personality of a cadet and a student of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, with an emphasis on educating a lawabiding citizen who adheres to the principles of legality and intolerance to corruption. The anticorruption standards of conduct that are mandatory for police officers are considered. The neutralization of corruption in government structures requires a comprehensive strategy that combines legal, psychological, educational and managerial methods. Despite the development of anti-corruption legislation and state policy, as well as the active work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, it is necessary to stimulate the participation of civil society in anti-corruption activities, transform approaches to improving the legal culture of the population and employees of law enforcement agencies. It is necessary to strengthen the professional training of personnel for work in the internal affairs bodies, observing the principle of unity of educational and educational processes.
