S. Dovlatov's prose on the screen

The article is devoted to the interpretation of S.Dovlatov's prose in Russian cinema. The feature films "In a straight line", "Strict regime comedy " (based on the novel "The Zone. A Prizon Camp Guard's Story") and "End of a great era" (based on the novel "Compromise") are analyzed. It is concluded that Dovlatov's prose with elements of poetics such as ambivalence, associativity and intertextuality, is not the same as film versions.
