Mental disorders in patients with oncological pathology of a certain localization (cancer of the lung, stomach, intestines)

Mental disorders in patients with cancer are more common than in the general population, reducing their adaptability and the quality of rehabilitation. The article describes the clinical features of mental disorders in patients with various cancer pathologies (cancer of the lung, stomach, intestines). Material and methods. The study group included 46 persons. Patients were examined using traditional clinical and psychopathological methods and quantitative assessment of depressive manifestations (Hamilton Depression Scale - HDRS-21). Results. We observed patients with adjustment disorder (20% of cases), with affective disorders (11%), with organic mental disorders (15%s), with pre-nosological disorders (54%). On the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale, in patients with the diagnosis of adjustment disorder, the average total score is higher (13.33±1.05) than in patients with affective disorders (12.8±2.2), organic disorders (11.3±1.5) (p>0.05), and in patients with pre-nosological conditions (6.3±0.4, p
