Evaluation of mental and neurophysiolog-ical status was conducted for persons in utero exposed to radiation. A group of 150 persons was examined using clinical and instrumental methods (EEG, cognitive evoked brain potentials). The results of the test included prevalence of mental disorders in exposed persons (p=0,03), leading asthenic and cognitive disorders, manifest changes in the bioelectric activity of the brain. The results obtained can be used in the everyday medical practice when carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients affected by radiation, and also they can help justify the need for preventive treatment of in utero exposed persons.
