Mental health of children and adolescents: regional aspect of the problem, search for ways of resolution

Technology of social-hygienic monitoring of mental health state of children and adolescents has been developed and introduced. With it more than 1500 children and adolescents have been examined. High prevalence rate of mental developmental disturbances and emotional dysfunctions has been revealed in child-adolescent population. Total number of examined with deviations in mental domain constituted from 37,3 to 62,7 %. Structure of disturbances was specific in every age group. Dependency of mental development of children at 3 and 5-6 years on material position of the family and 3 years - also on concomitant somatic and neurological pathology has been established. The conclusion was drawn about necessity of joint work of pediatricians, school psychologists, and teachers with psychiatrists on prevention and early detection of mental and behavior disorders in child-adolescent population. Development and acceptance at regional level of interdepartmental complex target programs of mental health care are necessary.
