The article deals with the issue of referring to the data of psychophysiological studies that can be effectively used in violin pedagogy. The fact that such a position has matured in the process of the historical development of violin performance and related pedagogy is justified. due, in turn, to the changes in the composer’s work that gradually appeared due to the arrival of the romantic style. These changes entailed the requirements for a significant increase in the composition of the orchestra and especially its string group and, as a consequence, the need to educate violinists capable of coping with a sheet music of large volume and varying degrees of complexity, both technical and musical. It explains the need for violin teachers to turn to scientific sources from the field of psychophysiology to improve the results of training violinists. As an example, a number of works of domestic and foreign scientists are given, whose sphere of interests, along with such sciences as mathematics, physics, physiology, etc., included issues of a musical and performing nature. Some studies conducted by violin teachers themselves at the time are also presented, which indicates the need for a scientific approach within the professional environment, their importance in improving the performance and pedagogical process is emphasized.
