Psychological security of media environment from the aspect of psychological borders

The spread of mass media, information and communication technologies, global computer networks cause the situation when modern juveniles immerse in a new, heterogeneous environment which makes a sort of life space. Media environment is considered as a part of life environment with specific characteristics. A juvenile is formed and develops interacting with the environment including the media environment. Any interaction of an individual and environment occurs on the edge of the contact, psychological border, which makes connection of man with the world inseparable. Psychological borders between juvenile inner world and media environment, to be more precise, the establishment and protection of borders help to preserve personal integrity and independence, create a sense of confidence, trust to the world, safety. Being engaged in media environment and mastering it a juvenile goes beyond the borders and the experience of his own “being on the border” provides mergence of the virtual world and personal “self”. Psychological security is achieved by building psychological borders between the inner “self” and his environment.
