Psychological safety of university teachers: the effects of the transformation of the educational process

The changes taking place in the higher education system of modern Russia, which place new demands on the teaching staff of higher educational institutions, are considered. It is shown that a university teacher has to look for new methods of work, master new competencies, constantly engage in self-education, and undergo retraining. The transformation of higher education can significantly influence the psychological and mental health of teachers, the psychological safety of participants in the educational process as a whole. The purpose of the work is to identify the characteristics of the psychological safety of teachers during the period of transformation of the educational process at the university. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the psychological safety of university teachers (N = 103) during the implementation of the Priority 2030 program. The study showed that, in general, teachers are satisfied with the conditions and process of professional activity. The attitude towards the educational environment is mostly neutral. The most psychologically vulnerable teachers are between 40 and 64 years old. The transformation of the educational process has a greater impact on teachers of the same age group. The level of professional maladaptation is increased in the age group from 40 to 64 years. It was revealed that the greatest problem associated with the transformation of the educational process is caused by constant changes in curricula, inconvenient schedules, and a decrease in the level of students' training.
