Psychological conditioning of individual victimization

The article is devoted to the analysis of the nature of individual victimization. The author states his assumptions about the factors causing individual victimization in order to improve the quality of victimological prevention. The article attempts to understand the processes leading to victim behavior, the reasons for which can be largely attributed to the sphere of unconscious mental activity. The need to move away from traditional approaches to determining the causes of victimization is emphasized in the paper. The relevance of studying multifactor conditionality of individual behavior of the victim is indicated. An attempt is made to approach the causes of victimization comprehensively from the point of the interaction of conscious and unconscious, rational and emotional components. After all, the development of preventive measures, the choice of effective means of influencing a person in order to prevent victimization, is based on the knowledge of the laws of victim behavior. The importance of such areas as victimological forecasting and victimological counseling is emphasized.
