Introduction. One of the forms of work with minors was the creation of temporary detention centers for juvenile offenders, these are closed-type educational institutions with the purpose to prevent juvenile neglect and delinquency. Materials and methods. Materials and methods were selected according to the tasks for each stage of psychological support: initial diagnostic, psycho-corrective, control-diagnostic. Control diagnostics was carried out according to four methods: "Silhouette", "Rose Bush", "Non-Existent Animal" and the definition of self-esteem and the level of claims by the method of T. Dembo - S. Ya. Rubinstein. Results and Discussion. The effect of the means used in the process of correctional development work is revealed. Self-esteem indices associated with all assessed qualities (intelligence, character, authority among peers, ability to do a lot with their hands, appearance, self-confidence) have reliably improved, which indicates the development of children’s reflexive attitudes towards themselves and, accordingly, bringing self-assessment to optimal values. Conclusions. Psycho-correctional work distributed meaningfully among three stages makes it possible to track the immediate dynamics of behaviour of problem juveniles and change the strategies of preventive influence accordingly.
