Psychological aspects of interaction in the law enforcement officers activity

Introduction. The need to improve interaction with citizens in order to ensure public order is highlighted. The activity of various public associations of citizens is being reviving: voluntary people's teams, Cossack forсe, off duty units of traffic police, public councils at the local police stations, public councils at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The goal was to clarify the ways of interaction and understanding in the law enforcement officers activity. Materials and Methodical Toolkit. 63 employees of the Department of Internal Affairs from the trainees of the correspondence department of the Ufa Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia were interviewed. The materials of the survey, questionnaires, preventive talks about the inadmissibility of delinquent behavior were used. Results of Survey. The psychological content of the concept of interaction has been specified in comparison with such concepts as communication, joint activity, interrelations, activity. Psychological mechanisms of value-motivational, communicative, perceptual, behavioral and emotional-volitional spheres of interaction of police officers with citizens, according to the approach of A. I. Shipilova; the dynamic characteristics and interaction strategies are outlined. On the basis of conducted research, practical activity problems of the law enforcement officers while achieving mutual understanding with citizens in maintaining law and order were considered. The main directions of improving the interaction of law enforcement officers with citizens, including psychological preparation and psychological support of professional activity are highlighted. Conclusions. Issues of interaction between police officers and citizens are of great importance because of the increasing citizens interest in maintaining law and order in cooperation. The effectiveness of psychological training of law enforcement officers is greatly determined by the specifics of interaction of employees of various services and departments with citizens.
