Worldwide, there is a tendency of growth of malignant tumors. In Russia the number of people with cancer, reaches more than 400 thousand per year. The development of medical methods of diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors increase the lifespan of cancer patients. According to statistical studies in our country in cancer care under medical supervision in our country, there are about 3 million people (Merabishvili V.M., 2010). Progress in the study of cancer allow the use of new high-tech methods of treatment of patients, which creates conditions for increasing the period of life of cancer patients. In this case, it becomes relevant to study the socio-psychological adjustment of cancer patients, important aspects of which is the attitude towards the disease. The value of psychological adaptation to the disease is recognized by oncologists throughout the world. Therapy-specific psychological adjustment of cancer patients, increases not only the efficiency of the treatment themselves of cancer, but also significantly improves the quality of life of patients. With worldwide cancer research institutes of mental perception of cancer of all forms and localizations. A psychological study of cancer patients allow the study of their psychological characteristics, attitude towards the disease and the response to disease, adaptability to changing situations. In the concept of "personality as a system of relations" attitude to the disease is one of the recognized targets of psychotherapy. The study of the influence of cancer on the psyche of the patient is a scientific basis for the provision of adequate psychological support for cancer patients. A feature of the disease prostate cancer is that timely and adequate treatment in these patients can significantly increase their life expectancy. However, the quality of life of patients with cancer of this localization may be reduced in connection with the effects of treatment and the anxiety caused by such consequences. The literature review revealed the paucity of research into the psychological aspects of prostate cancer. The expediency of studying the attitude to the disease in patients such localization of cancer.
