Introduction. The development of psychological criteria for correction of convicts and selection of methods for assessing their formation before release from places of deprivation of liberty become an urgent task due to the challenges faced by the penal system and requiring new measures for correction of convicts, their re-socialization and social adaptation. The aim is to substantiate the list of psychological criteria for correction of convicts, as well as a set of psychodiagnostic methods for assessing their formation before release from places of deprivation of liberty.
