Psychological features of the development of emotional intelligence of students

The article presents a theoretical analysis of modern research on the problems of emotional intelligence in general, cognitive and social psychology, and defines the concepts of ‘emotion’, ‘intelligence’, ‘emotional intelligence’. Analyzing the models of emotional intelligence proposed by scientists, the representation of the structure of emotional intelligence of future teachers, the psychological features of the development of personal professional qualities of future teachers, including their emotional intelligence, are considered. To form a model of the emotional intelligence of a future teacher, a program has been developed that includes: a target block, a course “Development of Emotional Intelligence”, forms of organizing the educational process, methods for the development of emotional intelligence, stages of development of emotional intelligence, and a predicted result. It is proposed to develop emotional intelligence using a specialized program based on active learning methods. In developing the emotional intelligence of future teachers, the use of the course “Development of Emotional Intelligence” is effective, an important part of which is conducting group classes using active teaching methods. Based on the results obtained, the effectiveness of the proposed program was proven during the experiment. During the work, statistical data showed an increase in future teachers' empathy, communicative competence, control and management of emotions, and the general level of emotional intelligence.
