Psychological barrier preventing the mastering of a foreign language in the course of studying in a technical institution of higher education

The article examines the psychological barrier as the main reason hindering the study of a foreign language in a technical institution of higher education. The most important competence which the future specialist must possess when studying in a university is the formation of a strategy for overcoming this psychological barrier. Overcoming psychological barriers involves the internal work of students themselves. This work is connected with mobilizing internal resources, as well as creating conditions for the activity foreign language teachers that aid the formation of value attitude to the subject in technical majors. The article describes the functions of the psychological barrier which play an important part in educational process. A competent educator can use them for development purposes. The progress of a student depends on certain technologies which a teacher uses in the educational process. The article presents various strategies of overcoming value-meaning barriers. These strategies can help students develop value attitude to foreign language.
