The article is devoted to the consideration of theoretical-methodological and applied aspects of psychological counseling of cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The work presents approaches to understanding the essence of psychological counseling in foreign and domestic psychology, and the author’s definition of this concept is given. The advantages and peculiarities of the transconceptual methodological approach in psychological counseling are described. The results of the analysis of the reasons for applying for help to a psychologist at the Volgograd Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia are given. The most common requests for psychological assistance in such areas as motivational, value-demand, development and self-improvement, self-esteem and self-esteem, etc. On the basis of typology of requests, the necessity of an integrated approach to the solution of problems of cadets, including elements of career guidance, age-psychological, and family counseling, is substantiated. In conclusion, the technology of psychological counseling of cadets is described.
