The article considers the relationship between the psychological space of the individual and coping behavior. The concept of „psychological space of the individual“ and the characteristics of the corresponding phenomenon - sovereignty, deprivation, super-sovereignty - are disclosed. Its dimensions corresponding to the main spheres of human existence (physical, social, spiritual) are presented. In the context of the author‘s understanding of the phenomenon of „psychological space of the individual“, the aspects associated with it are described - the psychological boundary of the individual and the features of its interaction with the environment. The results of an empirical study of the features of coping behavior in conditions of sovereignty of the psychological space and the severity of the functions of psychological boundaries are presented. It has been established that the sovereignty of the psychological space and the psychological boundaries of the individual affect coping behavior. The following conclusions are made: with a decrease in the sovereignty of individual dimensions of the psychological space, the tension of such copings as distancing, search for social support, acceptance of responsibility increases; with an increase in the severity of the giving function of the boundary, the search for social support is manifested to a greater extent, and escape-avoidance to a lesser extent; adaptive coping „planning a solution“ to the problem is determined by the permeability of the psychological boundary.
