The psychological impact on the interrogatee in order to obtain truthful testimony: the admissibility criteria

The paper considers some features of the criteria for the admissibility of the psychological impact on the interrogatee. An attempt has been made to generalize the criteria for the admissibility of the psychological impact used during the interrogation. It is believed that the observance of all criteria when applying the psychological impact during the interrogation leads to the underlying goal of obtaining truthful testimony and the information obtained with the use of the legal psychological impact serves as a reliable source for the formation of the evidence base. It is noted that, from a practical point of view, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the legal and illegal psychological impact. Finally, the author comes to the conclusion that at present it is necessary to develop a general methodological recommendation indicating specific actions for all types of interrogation in terms of applying the psychological impact on the interrogatee.
